A fireplace (from the Latin caminus — open hearth) is a type of heat-generating furnaces in which heat generation from the primary type of energy (chemical heat of combustion of fuel) occurs directly in the zone of the technological process (ZTP), which is mixed with the zone of heat generation (HRT) and with an open firebox in the working space of the furnace, which limits the heating of the surrounding space by convection and thermal conductivity and gives a predominant potential for radiant heat transfer in certain wavelength ranges
