Gangneung (Korean pronunciation: [kaŋ.nɯŋ]) is a city in the province of Gangwon-do, on the east coast of South Korea. It has a population of 213,658 (as of 2017). Gangneung is the economic centre of the Yeongdong region of Gangwon-do. Gangneung has many tourist attractions, such as Jeongdongjin, a very popular area for watching the sun rise, and Gyeongpo Beach.

Heavy snowfall associated with a storm system moving through the Great Lakes made travel conditions treacherous, but also transformed the landscape into a beautiful scene. In this video, you will see heavy snow falling at night, various scenes including heavy snow falling in lights, accumulations on trees and roadways, in parking lots. People cleaning off their cars, one woman running to her car in the snow. Christmas lights and fresh snow on them. Traffic driving in the snow. A howling autumn wind brings the cooler moist air of leaves and decay, hinting at the approach of winter. From inside, you hear the whistle and creeks of the window, watching the grasses and bare trees and bushes flex to the wind storm.
